In Northern Ireland netball enjoys the position of being the most popular team sport for women. Over 4000 schoolgirls and approximately 600 adults play the sport each week.
BANGOR NETBALL CLUB CAPTAIN’S WELCOME NOTE
Hi, my name is Alison McClune and welcome to the Bangor Netball Club's Website.
As Club Captain, I would like to thank you for visiting our website and hope you find it interesting. The Club began in Bangor in 1980 with just seven players and we have been growing and developing since then. We have three Senior Teams, plus Junior and Minor teams. Your can find out more about each of these teams by visiting their sections on this website.
The playing and competitive side of netball is extremely important to us - we strive to be the best! Netball is more than a game - it is also about companionship, making friends, sharing joys and concerns, celebrating each other’s successes and disappointments - in fact just like a family. We build bonds of friendship with each other that support us both on and off the court.
We welcome all women into our Club - whether it is the "returners" (those who have not played since school!!), the "competitors" (those striving to reach international glory) or the "developers" (young, talented players). The Club is open to all women from the age of 11 years upwards.
So, if you fancy taking part in a fun sport, meeting new people and generally having a laugh - why not come along and join us!! You will find we have a very busy social scene, from the tournaments to the camel racing nights to the annual tour - we have something for everyone!!
